From the Principal

As we reach the end of another term, we are filled with gratitude and pride for the achievements and progress our students have made. This term has flown by quickly, but it has been incredibly productive and rewarding for everyone involved.

One of the significant advancements this term has been the installation of Promethean interactive screens in every classroom. These state-of-the-art screens have greatly enhanced our teaching and learning experiences, providing dynamic and interactive lessons that engage our students more effectively.

This term, we also introduced Core Knowledge units across all year levels, which have proven to be an outstanding success. These units are designed to give students in-depth knowledge and vocabulary associated with a specific topic, fostering a deeper understanding and retention of information.

- Prep: Our Prep  learners delved into text-based units, exploring rich and engaging stories.

- Years 1 and 2: Students embarked on a fascinating exploration of Ancient Greece, learning about its mythology, history, and cultural contributions.

- Years 3 and 4: The adventurous world of the Vikings captivated our students, who learned about their seafaring expeditions, daily life, and significant impact on history.

- Years 5 and 6: Our senior primary students studied Feudal Japan, discovering the intricate societal structures, traditions, and influential figures of this historical period.

It has been wonderful to witness the students' enthusiasm and engagement in learning these topics. Their retained knowledge and the vocabulary they have acquired are a testament to the effectiveness of the Core Knowledge units and the skill of our teachers in implementing these. The level of understanding and excitement displayed by the students has been truly inspiring.

To celebrate these achievements, we are holding our Ancient Civilisations Day on Friday. This event will allow students to showcase what they have learned and participate in various activities related to Ancient Greece, the Vikings, and Feudal Japan. It promises to be a fun day for all.

As we conclude this term, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers and supportive parents. Your commitment and collaboration are vital to our students' success, and we are grateful for your ongoing support.

We wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday break. May you return refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.

Mid-Year Reports

Mid-year reports will be available on Compass on Friday afternoon. These reports will provide a summary of your child’s achievements so far this year – their strengths, areas for improvement, and overall development. It is a valuable review of, not only their academic performance, but also their personal growth, social skills, and engagement in learning. It would be great to read through the report with your child and celebrate their progress with them. I have read every student’s report. Certainly, there is room for growth, but I am incredibly proud of every student and the progress they have made. Thank you for your support of your child’s education and sincere gratitude to our Teachers, Teacher Assistants and school staff. Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place in Week 2 of next term. This is a wonderful opportunity to speak with your child’s teacher about specific areas of growth or need.
